AJN Trailer Rentals – Rental Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 5/4/26

This Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legally binding contract between AJN Trailer Rentals (“Company”) and the Renter (“Customer”). By renting any trailer from AJN Trailer Rentals, the Customer agrees to all terms and conditions outlined below.

1. Eligibility to Rent

Renter must:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Provide accurate and complete personal information
  • Have a properly equipped and rated towing vehicle capable of safely towing the rented trailer
  • Maintain valid and active auto insurance that covers the towing vehicle and trailer use

AJN Trailer Rentals reserves the right to verify eligibility and refuse service to anyone at its discretion.

2. Rental Period

  • Rental begins at the agreed pickup time and ends at the scheduled return time
  • Late returns may result in additional fees
  • Unauthorized extensions are strictly prohibited

3. Payment & Security Deposit

  • Full rental payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed
  • A $100 security deposit is required for every rental
  • The security deposit will be refunded after the trailer is returned in acceptable condition
  • AJN Trailer Rentals reserves the right to withhold all or part of the deposit for:
    • Damage to the trailer
    • Missing equipment
    • Late returns
    • Cleaning fees
    • Any violation of this Agreement
  • If damages or charges exceed $100, the Renter agrees to pay the full remaining balance

4. Trailer Use & Restrictions

Renter agrees:

  • To use the trailer safely and in accordance with all laws
  • Not to overload the trailer beyond its rated capacity
  • Not to use the trailer for illegal activities
  • Not to sublease or allow unauthorized drivers to use the trailer

5. GPS Tracking & Monitoring

All trailers may be equipped with GPS tracking devices for security and asset protection purposes.

By renting, the Customer:

  • Acknowledges and consents to GPS tracking
  • Understands tracking may monitor location, speed, and usage
  • Agrees that GPS data may be used in cases of theft, disputes, or violations

Tampering with, disabling, or removing GPS equipment is strictly prohibited and will result in additional fees, termination of rental, and possible legal action.

6. Condition of Trailer

  • Renter accepts the trailer “as-is” at pickup
  • Renter is responsible for inspecting the trailer before use
  • Any pre-existing damage must be reported prior to departure

7. Damage, Loss, & Liability

The Renter assumes FULL responsibility and liability for the trailer during the rental period.

Renter agrees:

  • To be fully responsible for any damage, loss, theft, or destruction of the trailer
  • To cover all repair or replacement costs, regardless of fault
  • To be liable for any damage caused to persons, property, or vehicles while using the trailer

AJN Trailer Rentals is not responsible for:

  • Personal injury, death, or property damage
  • Loss or damage to cargo
  • Mechanical failure or unforeseen issues during use

8. Insurance Responsibility

  • Renter is responsible for ensuring proper insurance coverage through their vehicle insurance provider
  • AJN Trailer Rentals does not provide insurance coverage unless explicitly stated

9. Towing Responsibility

Renter confirms:

  • Their vehicle is properly rated and equipped to tow the rented trailer
  • Hitch, wiring, and safety chains are correctly connected before departure

10. Prohibited Actions

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Reckless or negligent use
  • Off-road or unauthorized use
  • Transporting hazardous or illegal materials
  • Tampering with trailer components or GPS system

Violations may result in immediate termination and additional charges.

11. Breakdown & Roadside Issues

  • Renter is responsible for any roadside assistance or towing costs
  • Any issues must be reported immediately

12. Return Condition

  • Trailer must be returned in the same condition as rented
  • Excessive dirt, damage, or missing equipment may result in additional fees

13. Indemnification

Renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless AJN Trailer Rentals from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from the use or possession of the trailer.

14. Default & Recovery

If the trailer is not returned:

  • AJN Trailer Rentals reserves the right to recover the trailer using GPS tracking
  • Additional fees, legal action, and theft charges may apply

15. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.

16. Electronic Signature & Agreement Acknowledgment

By checking the box during booking or checkout, the Customer:

  • Agrees that checking the box constitutes their electronic signature
  • Acknowledges this action is legally binding under applicable electronic signature laws (including the U.S. E-SIGN Act)
  • Confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to all Terms & Conditions
  • Accepts full responsibility for the rental under this Agreement

This electronic acknowledgment is the legal equivalent of a handwritten signature.
